Add-Ons and Modifiers

This article explains how to manage add-ons and modifiers for menu items in the iMenu360 online ordering platform. Follow the steps below to access and edit add-ons and modifiers in the Menu Manager.

Managing Add-Ons and Modifiers
Log in to Your Dashboard: CLICK HERE TO LOG IN using your credentials.
  1. Navigate to Menu Manager:
    • Once logged in, click the Menu Manager feature.
    • Choose the menu you would like to edit. Ensure it corresponds with the correct location by checking under the "Restaurant Locations Using This Menu" column.
    • Select the Add-Ons tab to access menu add-ons.

Add-Ons

Add-ons are extra items or options that guests can choose to enhance or customize their order. Unlike modifiers, which typically adjust how a dish is prepared, add-ons are additional components that can be added to a menu item, usually at an additional cost.

For example:

  • Adding extra cheese or pepperoni to a pizza.
  • Adding bacon to a burger.
  • Adding guacamole to a taco.

Key Points About Add-ons:

  • They usually increase the price of the item.
  • Guests can choose one or more add-ons depending on the options provided.
  • Add-ons are typically displayed during the ordering process, allowing guests to personalize their meal.
  1. View Add-Ons:
    1. In the correct Menu Manager, click the Add-Ons feature at the top to view all available add-ons for the menu items.
  2. Create a New Add-On:
    1. Click the red Create New Addon button.
    2. In this section, you can:
      1. Edit Add-On Name: Define the name of the add-on.
      2. Edit Add-On Description: Provide a description for the add-on to clarify its purpose.
      3. Edit Display Type: Choose AllowOne or Multiple (The guest can choose one or multiple options. Please ignore other display types.)
      4. Option Modifier 1: This option modifier allows the guest to modify the add on, for example, in the case of a pizza, choose Full-Left-Right and a guest can choose if the toppings will be on the full pizza, left side, or right side.
      5. Option Modifier 2: This second option modifier allows the guest to modify the add on in a different way, for example, in the case of a pizza, choose x1x2x3x4 and the guest can multiply the amount of toppings up to 4 times.
      6. Add On Type: Ignore
      7. Add blank option: Click this button to create add on options
      8. Option Name: Name of toppings
      9. Seq: The sequence in which the add ons are displayed
      10. Portions: Price for each portion of the add on. For example, in the case of pizza toppings, if you have 4 pizza sizes, small, medium, large, extra large, then you will have 4 different prices to add per each add on. Each topping will have a different price based on the size the guest chooses on your menu.

Display Type

Under the Display Type dropdown, select one of the two relevant options to configure the Display Type:
  1. AllowOne: Allows guests to select only one modifier option.
  2. Multiple: Allows guests to select multiple modifiers (useful for items like pizza toppings).
  3. Note: Please ignore other options in the Display Type dropdown.

Add-On Option Modifiers

Add-On Option Modifiers are additional settings or choices related to an add-on that allow guests to further customize how the add-on is applied to their order. These modifiers provide flexibility, such as adjusting the portion or deciding how the add-on is distributed across an item.

For example, in the context of a pizza:

  • Full-Left-Right Modifier: When adding extra toppings like pepperoni, the guest can choose whether they want the toppings on the whole pizza (Full), or only on the left or right half.
  • x1x2x3x4 Modifier: This option lets guests choose how many times the add-on is applied. For example, they can double, triple, or quadruple the amount of a topping, like extra cheese.

Key Points About Add-On Option Modifiers:

  • They allow guests to refine how the add-on is applied (e.g., portion control or placement on the dish).
  • They can influence how the add-on is visually or quantitatively applied to a menu item.
  • These modifiers can sometimes increase the price based on the quantity or complexity chosen.

Modifiers

Modifiers are standard instructions or simple requests that help the guest define how food should be prepared. Modifiers DO NOT affect the price of an item.
  1. View Modifiers:
    1. In the correct Menu Manager, click the Modifiers feature at the top.
  2. Create a Modifier Group
    1. What is a Modifier Group?
      1. Modifiers are grouped under Modifier Groups. The Modifier Group is displayed like add-ons allowing the restaurant to choose AllowOne or Multiple.
        1. An example of a modifier group relevant to a burger where AllowOne would be selected allowing only one modifier to be selected in the group is "Rare, Medium, Well-Done."
        2. An example of a modifier group relevant to a burger where Multiple would be selected allowing multiple modifiers to be selected in the group is "Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Mustard, Ketchup, Pickle."
      2. An item can be associated with a maximum of 12 modifier groups.

Save and Update Website
