This step-by-step guide explains the three types of automatic discounts in iMenu360—Online, Payment, and App Only—and how to create and configure each one to incentivize customer behavior.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Access the Discounts Section:
Log in to your iMenu360 admin portal.
Navigate to the "Discounts" tab on the left-hand sidebar under Marketing
Create a New Discount:
Click on the "Create Discount" in the top right
In the "Discount Type" section, click the dropdown menu labeled "Select an option". Choose either Online Discount, Payment Discount, or App Discount.
What it is: An automatic discount applied to every order placed online (via your website or app). The customer does not need a code.
When to use it: To incentivize all online ordering, run a site-wide sale (e.g., "10% off all online orders"), or reward customers for using a more efficient channel.
How to Configure:
Select "Online Discount" from the Discount Tools menu.
Set the Type ($ or %) and the discount Value.
(Optional) Set a Min. Order Amt.
Check Pre Tax to apply it to the subtotal.
Set an End Date to automatically stop the promotion.
Add a Note like "Online Special" for the receipt.
What it is: An automatic discount applied when a customer selects a specific payment method, most commonly Cash.
When to use it: To encourage cash payments and avoid credit card processing fees.
How to Configure:
Select "Payment Discount" from the Discount Tools menu.
A Payment Type field will appear. Select the desired method (e.g., Cash).
Set the Type ($ or %) and the discount Value (e.g., 5% or $2 off).
(Optional) Set a Min. Order Amt.
Check Pre Tax (recommended).
Set an End Date if it's a temporary promotion.
Add a Note like "Cash Discount" for the receipt.
What it is: An automatic discount applied only to orders placed through your restaurant's dedicated mobile app.
When to use it: To drive downloads and increase engagement with your mobile app, rewarding your most loyal customers.
How to Configure:
Select "App Only Discount" from the Discount Tools menu.
Set the Type ($ or %) and the discount Value.
(Optional) Set a Min. Order Amt.
Check Pre Tax (recommended).
Set an End Date for a time-sensitive promotion or leave it far in the future for a permanent app benefit.
Add a Note like "App Exclusive" for the receipt.
Under "Locations Accepting Discount," confirm your restaurant is selected.
Click the blue "Save" button.
Crucially, return to the main dashboard and click "Update Website" to publish the discount and make it live for your customers.
