For normal operations, we recommend setting pickup delays between 15-20 minutes and delivery delays between 25-35 minutes. This gives your kitchen adequate time to prepare orders during typical business hours without overwhelming your staff.
During busy periods such as weekend rushes or special events, consider increasing delays by 10-15 minutes for both pickup and delivery. This helps manage customer expectations and prevents order backups that can lead to delays or mistakes.
For special circumstances like limited staff or kitchen equipment issues, you might set longer delays of 45-60 minutes. This allows you to continue accepting orders while giving your team sufficient time to manage reduced capacity.
When testing new settings, start with conservative delays and adjust based on your kitchen's actual performance. It's better to initially overestimate and reduce delays later than to disappoint customers with longer-than-expected wait times.
